Kathleen Flammia

Founder of Flammia Elder Law Firm

Kathleen Flammia has spent nearly two decades advocating for elders and their family caregivers.

Kathleen Flammia has been practicing law since 1989. She is a Florida Bar Board Certified Elder Law Attorney, making her a legal expert in this area of law. Kathleen is an Accredited Veterans Claim Attorney, as required to practice law before the VA. She is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive.

After 15 years in a courtroom trying cases, Kathleen turned her advocacy skills to help people who are trying to navigate the complex maze of how to pay for their care, either in a nursing home, assisted living facility, or at home. Kathleen makes sure they have the legal documents needed to allow the people they want to help them while keeping the government and courts out of their lives.

As society continues to live longer, we must face issues that can be overwhelming. As the past chair of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center, Kathleen has seen firsthand families struggle with the role reversal of parent and child. It is hard enough to provide care for our loved ones without worrying about how they are going to pay for that care, or if they have the legal documents in place to allow their loved ones to act for them.
